CMS is excited to be growing our Legal Tech Product team with this new hire. This role will spearhead our commitment to being a future-facing firm, using best-in-practice legal tech to support our colleagues and better serve our clients. To both action and lead other product managers on the deployment and adoption of Gen AI tools, including setting the strategy for how we can increase value for these tools. Additionally, to take on senior responsibilities including line management, budget management, and representing the department to the wider business and clients, including helping the delivery of wider strategic projects.

About the role

Responsibilities include:

•    Work with the Head of Legal Tech and AI Committee to define and deliver the CMS AI strategy, focusing on the adoption of Gen AI tools.

•    Manage members of the product management team working on adoption and roll out of Gen AI tools.

•    Technical subject matter expert in the use of all GenAI tools licensed on a range of matters across the business. 

•    To create and lead on the tailored Gen AI adoption plan across the business, working with the product management team to deliver training, define success metrics and develop communication plans.

•    To lead demos of Gen AI tools for colleagues and clients, along with scoping out any support, materials or guidance needed to improve adoption throughout the firm.

•    Update and maintain pitch wording and client facing materials for how CMS express the use and value of GenAI, ensuring maintained database of case studies and value metrics that are accessible on Horizon.

•    To support on discovery and development of new work types incorporating Gen AI tools, being a point of escalation and support if required.

•    To facilitate creation and delivery of new CMS products incorporating GenAI tools, working with lawyers and other stakeholders across the firm to develop the products and create marketing materials to pitch them to clients. 

•    To take the lead on supplier negotiations with Gen AI tool providers and assess new systems for suitability along with promoting/ supporting any new tools to trial working with the Legal Tech R&D manager. 

•    Keep abreast of any AI news, client expectations, market changes and competitor analysis of how our industry is using and embedding these tools in practice.

•    Create super user network of Gen AI users across the business to support innovative culture of CMS and further embed the use of these tools in practice, sharing knowledge across the business.

•    Maintain the firm’s GenAI risk register entries, adding to and amending them as necessary.

About you

•    Experience as a practicing solicitor having used AI tools on matters would be favourable. Alternatively, product       management experience with AI tools at a law firm.
•    People management experience is a must.
•    Experience with creating and implementing strategy at a senior level.
•    Experience working with senior stakeholders.
•    Good organisational and prioritisation skills to manage mixed role and busy workload.
•    Experience with project management would be a plus.
•    Strong meeting facilitation experience with senior stakeholders and clients.
•    Experience with project scoping is a must.
•    Strong communications skills are essential.
•    Solution oriented, problem solver and self-starter mindset.
•    Able to adapt and navigate a disruptive and changeable market.
